Battle of Tanga – “Battle of the Bees.” 2nd Loyals, transported from India as part of an Indian Army expeditionary force, part of invasion force which attacks the port of Tanga in German East Africa (now Tanzania). Skilful defence defeats the British and forces withdrawal, but not before both sides are attacked swarms of angry wild bees from hives destroyed by the small-arms fire.
