This Day in History: 1941-12-08

1941. Japan launches a mass series of attacks across the Pacific and South East Asia, including Pearl Harbour, Hawaii (where it is still 7 December), Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaya. 2nd Loyals, in garrison at Singapore, stand to. They are short of some equipment, especially anti-tank rifles, of which there are only 11 in the Battalion, but are familiarising themselves with the 9 armoured cars issued to them the day before.
