Germany. British advance through the Reichswald Forest continues in persistent rain and snow. After more heavy fighting, 1st East Lancashires are the only battalion in their brigade to reach their objective, a pungent cross roads in a clearing promptly named Dead Horse Corner due to the presence of four unfortunate and odiferous animals killed by artillery fire. They are to remain isolated and effectively surrounded in this position for the next 24 hours.
