1861 Under orders for Canada, 47th Regiment (later 1st Loyals) embarks at Kingstown, Ireland, on the auxiliary screw transport ship Golden Fleece
1915 Festubert. In a heroic attack, 4th Loyals (Preston's Territorials) lose 431 men killed, wounded and missing in their first general action.
1944 148 Regt RAC (formerly 9th Loyals) lands in Normandy with its Sherman 1 and Sherman Vc Firefly tanks
