North West Europe. While training with its new Buffalo amphibious assault landing craft for the impending crossing of the Rhine, No 144 (East Lancashire) Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps (formerly 8th East Lancashires), holds its final parade. The East Lancashire Regimental Band plays the Regimental March. The next day 144 Regiment becomes 4th Battalion, Royal Tank Regiment.
