The sailing ship Beaver, out of Boston USA, arrives at Bangka Island, off Sumatra, and embarks the 2 companies (117 officers and men) of the 59th Foot (later 2nd East Lancashires) who have been marooned there since the wreck of their transport HMS Transit 11 days before. She carries them to Singapore, where they arrive 4 days later.
