1918 1st Loyal North Lancashires and 5th East Lancashires storm through the vaunted Hindenburg Line. 1st Loyals engaged in severe fighting for 2 days, clearing a maze of trenches around the St Quentin Canal.
1918 In the early hours of the morning, B Company of 2nd Loyals loops around behind the German defenders of Wytschaete and take the village from the rear. 2nd South Lancashires continue the advance, capturing 20 artillery pieces, 10 machine guns and 2 mortars
